Terms of Service
Terms and conditions governing your access to and use of structrans, automated file translation, and edge APIs.
Welcome to structrans ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Akhunzyanova Kateryna, an independent software developer based in Ukraine ("Operator"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the structrans web application, edge APIs, file conversion services, and related websites (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using our Service, creating an account, or uploading files for translation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an entity or employer, you represent and warrant that you have full authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
1. Description of the Service
structrans (short for structured translate) is a developer- and business-oriented translation platform engineered to translate software localization files (e.g., JSON, PO, XLIFF, RESX, ARB, YAML, INI, Strings), markup, and document files (e.g., DOCX, PPTX, PDF) while strictly preserving structural syntax, template variables, tags, and formatting rules. The Service operates using automated parsers, Cloudflare edge compute, high-performance conversion workers, and commercial Large Language Model (LLM) inference gateways.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
- Account Security: When creating an account via email magic link or authorized authentication providers, you agree to maintain the security of your authentication tokens and sessions. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account details updated.
3. Customer Content & Intellectual Property Ownership
- Your Content & Full Ownership: You retain 100% of all right, title, and interest—including all copyright and intellectual property rights—in and to any files, strings, code snippets, documentation, or texts you submit to the Service ("Customer Content"), as well as the resulting translated outputs ("Translated Outputs"). We claim no ownership over your inputs or outputs.
- Limited License to Process: You grant the Operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license solely to access, transmit, parse, format, process, and temporarily store your Customer Content for the strictly limited purpose of operating, executing, and delivering the translation and conversion services requested by you.
- Zero AI Model Training Guarantee: We guarantee that neither we nor our upstream LLM inference providers use your Customer Content or Translated Outputs to train, fine-tune, or improve machine learning or artificial intelligence models. Processing is conducted through commercial zero-data-retention API agreements.
- Platform Intellectual Property: The Operator retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including proprietary parsers, algorithms, web interface, logos, documentation, and software.
4. Artificial Intelligence & Service Disclaimers
- Nature of Machine Translation: The Service utilizes automated structural parsers combined with generative artificial intelligence models. While engineered to preserve code syntax and variables with high fidelity, AI-generated outputs are probabilistic in nature.
- "AS IS" & "AS AVAILABLE": THE SERVICE AND TRANSLATED OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
- User Verification Duty: You are solely responsible for reviewing, testing, and verifying the linguistic and technical accuracy of Translated Outputs before deploying them to production software, releasing localized applications, or relying on them for mission-critical, legal, medical, or life-safety operations.
5. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload or transmit files containing viruses, worms, malware, trojan horses, or destructive code;
- Translate content that infringes upon the intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary rights of any third party;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of our proprietary format parsers or conversion workers;
- Bypass or circumvent rate limits, quota controls, authentication mechanisms, or security barriers;
- Use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to abuse or overload our infrastructure;
- Process or transmit material that promotes hate speech, illegal acts, cyberattacks, or harassment.
Violation of this section constitutes grounds for immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice.
6. Subscriptions, Payments & Merchant of Record
- Merchant of Record (Paddle): Our order process and payment transactions are conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). When purchasing a subscription or top-up credit pack, you enter into a legal agreement with Paddle for the transaction. Paddle handles checkout, billing, currency conversion, compliant invoices, and applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax).
- Pricing & Plans: The Pro subscription plan is priced at $10.00 USD per month (billed monthly) or $96.00 USD per year (billed annually, equivalent to $8.00/month, saving 20%). Stated prices are tax-exclusive. Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated dynamically at checkout by Paddle based on your verified billing country and VAT/Tax ID.
- Rolling Billing Cycle: Subscription quota periods operate on a rolling 30-day (anniversary) schedule anchored to your initial subscription or renewal timestamp (
current_period_starts_at), providing 500,000 translation units per cycle. - Pre-Paid Top-Up Add-on Packs: Active Pro subscribers may purchase pre-paid Top-up credit packs: Starter (150,000 units for $5.00), Popular (350,000 units for $10.00), or Power (1,000,000 units for $25.00). Top-up packs are exclusively available to active Pro accounts. Each top-up grant carries a strict 12-month validity window from the date of purchase. If your Pro subscription lapses to the Free tier, unexpired top-up credits are temporarily frozen (ineligible for consumption until Pro status is restored); the 12-month expiration clock continues to run while frozen.
- Consumption Debit Order: Translation consumption is debited on a strict waterfall sequence: your monthly subscription allowance is depleted first, followed by active top-up grants on a FIFO (First-In, First-Out, oldest expiring first) basis.
- Physical Single-File Execution Ceiling: Regardless of wallet balance or available top-up units, single files uploaded for translation are capped at a physical RAM execution ceiling of 550,000 units (275,000 heavy characters) to safeguard worker stability. Files exceeding this ceiling are rejected at pre-flight.
- Self-Serve Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through the in-app Billing dashboard. Cancellation schedules termination at the conclusion of your current prepaid billing period. Voluntary cancellation retains Pro privileges until period end, after which unspent top-up units freeze.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
1. No Indirect Damages: IN NO EVENT SHALL THE OPERATOR, CONTRACTORS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, CODE CORRUPTION, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
2. Liability Cap: THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE OPERATOR ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $100).
8. Temporary Data Retention & Purging
Uploaded files, cached intermediate ASTs, and downloadable outputs are retained in our object storage (Cloudflare R2) and temporary worker volumes on an ephemeral basis (typically purged within 24 to 72 hours following job completion or upon your explicit manual deletion request). We are not an archival storage provider; you are responsible for maintaining independent backup copies of all original files.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, in the event of:
- A breach or violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- Suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity;
- Non-payment of applicable fees.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections regarding Intellectual Property, AI Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law shall survive termination.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, submitted to the competent courts of Ukraine.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at our discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice via email or an in-app banner before new terms take effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.
